Learn about Homestead Exemption fraud and AirBnB

Miami-Dade County property owners who received Homestead Exemption on their primary residence need to be aware that upon renting their property or portions of their property through homesharing or collaborative consumption companies such as AirBnB, may be committing homestead fraud.

Improperly claiming Homestead Exemption will result in tax liens up to 10 years taxes, plus a 50% penalty, and 15% interest.
