Moving forward together from COVID-19

In preparation for the expiration of the federal public health emergency on May 11, 2023, Miami-Dade County is demobilizing the County’s remaining COVID-19 testing and vaccination programs.

Through the dedicated efforts of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, Miami-Dade Police Department, emergency management personnel and healthcare workers, Miami-Dade County built and scaled a community-wide vaccination campaign, resulting in more than 2 million people getting vaccinated. Miami-Dade achieved one of the highest vaccination rates in the state and the nation.

Vaccines

Vaccines will be available at pharmacies, health centers, public and private healthcare providers, and the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County.

Testing

Testing will remain widely available via self-administered home tests and at traditional healthcare sites. Home test kits are available through federal distribution, private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, and retail purchase.

Therapeutics and Treatment

Therapeutics and Treatments are available in healthcare settings by prescription. The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade will support equitable access to therapeutics.
