Pre-Order Closed For Storm –

On the North End of the iconic, Las Vegas Strip sits a massive, glass tower higher than any other building down the boulevard. For those who have visited the strip, the sight of this infamous tower has become all too common. Today I wanted to figure out what happened here and how what was supposed to be a new resort brand failed miserably and left a never finished mega casino left abandoned. This is The Drew, or formally known as the Fontainebleau Las Vegas.

  1. Meanwhile the rest of Vegas get more slum like every day. The deal with these projects is that you borrow billions go backrupt and buy it out of bankruptcy for a few pennies on the dollar. They all work like this. This is why banks need bailouts every off year election.

  2. @ 11 minutes…The missing glass panels didn’t shatter, and they most certainly did not “fall off”. They were never installed in the first place for coordination during construction such as debris chutes and air flow.

  3. I had just moved to Vegas when they were working on this, and I rode out the recession virtually unscathed, but yeah I recall them working on it, then it just stopped…and that was it. If you look, you can see where they were just starting on Resorts World but had to stop due to the recession, but it's now finished. I really dunno whether this would ever be finished or they would just tear it down.

  4. Yikes, it was build on Elvis Presley Str. That sounds like a bad omen considering how Elvis Presley, died relatively, young, you could infer, that he had, a life interrupted.🤔 So did this structure, again, again, again, and again.🙄

  5. Ok. This may be a bit petty but there is no “u” in the “Font” part of the name of this hotel. Why pronounce the name “Fountainebleau”? Also, Deutsche Bank has no “s” in the name. Not sure about the rest of the video’s accuracy but this simple stuff seems to call it into question.

If the goal is to present information like an objective journalist knowing how to pronounce the names of the primary protagonists in the story matters.

  6. Hi I'd really appreciate it if you did a video on all the financing methods in the hotel industry, how easy it is to get and examples of how some people were able to get finance for their hotels from nothing. I don't think there's any video on youtube about this

  7. Jake, you do amazing work telling the story if these amazing abandoned pieces of history and u love watching these! Have you ever thought about doing one on Buckhorn Baths in Mesa AZ? It's our Cactus League history and so sad to see it deteriorating

  8. At this time in 2021, with no opening in sight, how much aging has this property experienced? Way too much. The building does look amazing! I would definitely visit there when it opens. 😀
