West Palm Beach City Commission and Community Redevelopment Agency Meetings Approvals and Decisions

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (10-4-2022) – Below is a summary of some of the approvals and decisions made by the City Commission meeting on Monday, October 3, 2022.

MAYOR’S OFFICE – Presented a tribute to St. Ann Catholic Church on the 100th Anniversary of the school.

Approved a resolution for an agreement with the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Office for the use of voter processing equipment and election services for the March 2023 municipal elections.

CITY ATTORNEY – Approved a resolution for a conditional settlement with Kimberly Purinton  for $75,000 to resolve a traffic accident that occurred on December 3, 2019; approved a resolution for a conditional settlement with Christian Dooley and Mauli Patel for $100,000 for an accident that occurred on January 19, 2019; approved a resolution assessing city liens for $86,462 for unpaid water service, sewer service and stormwater service charges; and approved an ordinance on second reading repealing Article V of Chapter 54, Sections 54-171 through 54-174 (Prohibition of Conversion Therapy on Minors). 

DEVELOPMENT SERVICES – Approved a resolution amending the covenants, conditions and restrictions governing Narcissus Avenue between Banyan Boulevard and 2nd Street to provide one-way traffic; approved an ordinance on first reading after a public hearing, to amend the land use map changing the zoning of 21-plus acres at 7629 South Dixie Highway from commercial (C) to commercial east (CE) use; and approved a resolution creating the Heart & Soul plat.   

ENGINEERING – Approved a resolution for a 15-foot temporary construction easement to Dock Street LLC. 

FINANCE – Approved a resolution to update the Comprehensive Fee Schedule for Fiscal Year 2023. 

FIRE – Approved a resolution accepting $4.9 million in FEMA Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant funds to hire additional fire personnel. 

PARKS & RECREATION – Approved a resolution for a special license for the Latin Quarter of West Palm Beach for the annual “Latin Quarter Fiesta” event at Phipps Park on Saturday, October 15, 2022. 

POLICE – Approved a resolution amending the 2022/2023 Miscellaneous Trust Fund Budget to authorize the transfer of $119,704 from the Federal Law Enforcement Forfeiture Receipts to cover investigative expenses.

Below is a summary of some of the approvals and decisions made by the Community Redevelopment Agency during the meeting on Monday, October 3, 2022.

Approved a resolution under the Artist in Residence program authorizing the lease of the property at 610 23rd Street, Unit B, to Emery Johnson; approved a 12-month extension with HTG Banyan LLC for completion of the Flagler Station Project and Linear Park; and approved a resolution authorizing an amendment to the covenants, conditions and restrictions governing Narcissus Avenue between banyan Boulevard and 2nd Street t provide one-way traffic.
