Mayor, City Commission Approvals and Decisions for October 30, 2023

West Palm Beach City Commission Meeting and Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Approvals and Decisions

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (DATE) – Below is a summary of the approvals and decisions made by the City Commission meeting on Monday, October 30, 2023.

MAYOR’S OFFICE – Approved a resolution designating a delegate and alternate delegate to represent the City of West Palm Beach as a voting member of the National League of Cities; cancelled the regular Mayor and City Commission meeting on Monday, December 26, 2023.

CITY ATTORNEY – Approved a resolution approving a conditional worker’s compensation settlement agreement in the case of Michael Suarez v. City of West Palm Beach; approved a resolution waiving potential conflict of interest relating to GrayRobinson’s representation of Tarpon IV, LLC in connection with a code compliance matter.

DEVELOPMENT SERVICES – Approved a resolution related to the “Anya” residential project, 303 Banyan Boulevard, approving a Right-of-Way maintenance Agreement; approved a resolution related to One Flagler office tower, 180 Lakeview Avenue, accepting maintenance responsibility for landscaping and hardscape improvements to be built along Okeechobee Boulevard, Lakeview Avenue and Flagler Drive and transferring obligations to the RUD 1 Flagler, LLC, the project developer; approved a resolution approving a Special Site Plan Review to allow 48 affordable residential units on the south side of 45th Street within the Industrial Zoning District; approved a resolution approving the replat of about 1.245 acres located a 445 Datura Street; extended an additional 120 days to record the “Transit Village Subdivision” plat.

ENGINEERING – Approved a resolution authorizing recoding of a Maintenance Map for portions of 36th Street.

FINANCE – Approved two resolutions approving a Federally Funded Subaward and Grant Agreement with the State of Florida Department of Emergency Management to accept a grant reimbursement of eligible costs resulting from Hurricane Nicole, and a second resolution approving budget appropriations for revenue and expenditures for $199,209 to cover unbudgeted expenses that occurred in Fiscal Year 2022-2023 as a result of Hurricane Nicole.

PARKS and RECREATION – Approved a resolution approving a Special License Agreement with Shifting Gears United for the 5th Annual Freedom Coast Ride on Saturday, Nov. 11 at Dreher Park; approved a resolution approving a Special License Agreement with Palm Beach County Motorcyclist Toys for Tots for the annual “Bill’s Bike’s Memorial Toy Run, Saturday, Dec. 3, at Dreher Park.
