You’re Invited: Help Create a West Palm Beach Community Quilt

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – ArtLife WPB, the City of West Palm Beach’s public art program, in collaboration with the Mandel Public Library will host “The Heart of West Palm Beach: A Community Quilt Project” on Saturday, Jan. 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Studio 411 on the library second floor. The library is located at 411 Clematis Street.

Residents are encouraged to bring orange, teal, yellow, or blue cotton fabric to weave their piece of City history. Renowned local fabric artist Gillian Kennedy Wright will assist guests in adding 12-inch by 4-inch cotton fabric to create the City quilt. The finished quilt will become part of a new installation to be debuted in City Hall.

Sewing supplies will be provided by the library. No registration is required. The project has been commissioned by ArtLife WPB. For additional details, click here or call the library at (561) 868-7700 (TTY: 800-955-8771).
