WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Carlos Gimenez (FL-28) joined the Select Committee on China for their first hearing on the threats of the Chinese Communist Party.
“We are actually funding the instrument of our demise, and we must decouple, but we can’t do it alone – we must do it with our allies… We can’t do this incrementally. We need dramatic action, and we need it now.” Congressman Gimenez said during his line of questioning.
Congressman Gimenez questioned the witnesses with the following:
1. General, do you think China poses a greater threat to our freedom and the worlds freedom than the Soviet Union ever did?
2. Do you feel that our allies have sufficiently woken up to the reality of what China is and the treat China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, pose to the rest of the world?
