County offices to close Monday, Sept. 4 for Labor Day

Observed everyear on the first Monday in September, Labor Day recognizes the many contributions workers have made to U.S. strenght, prosperity and well being.  Miami-Dade County offices, courts, libraries and the Pet  Adoption Center will be closed for the holiday..

Family Activities:

  • The Deering Estate will offer $5 general admission throughout the Labor Day Weekend: Saturday, Sept.2, Sunday, Sept. 3, and Monday, Sept. 4.  Admission is free for active-duty military personnel and up to five family members as part of Blue Star Museums. Enjoy wildlife viewing, bay vistas, and self-guided access to the museums. Visitors can purchase tickets to the Deering Estate online.

Safety Tips:

  • Protect yourself from the potentially serious diseases that mosquitoes carry. Learn about the importance of drain and cover to reduce the mosquito nuisance and remember to apply repellent. Learn more about mosquito control

  • To be safe for the holidays, remember the Three A’s of Crime Prevention: Be Aware of Your Surroundings, Be Alert to Suspicious People and Vehicles, Avoid Dangerous Situations.
