Learn about Amendment 4

Amendment 4 restores the voting rights of Floridians with felony convictions after they complete all terms of their sentence including parole or probation. The amendment does not apply to those convicted of murder or sexual offenses, who continue to be permanently barred from voting unless the Governor and Cabinet vote to restore their voting rights on a case by case basis.

The Miami-Dade Elections Department proudly serves potential voters in the act of voter registration. Under this law, the role of the Supervisor of Elections remains the same. If the voter affirms they meet all qualifications, we will register them.

For any eligible voter whose voting rights have been restored and wishes to register, download the current Florida Voter Registration form, which should be printed, filled out completely, and mailed to the Supervisor of Elections Office no later than 29 days prior to Election Day to be valid for the upcoming election.
