Tuesday, May 5, 2020, North Miami’s District 3 Councilwoman Mary Estimé-Irvin partnered with Joshua’s Heart Foundation and Chen Senior Medical Centers to package and deliver approximately 100 stay-at-home care packages to families and seniors throughout the city of North Miami.
Through this partnership, North Miami residents received fresh produce, poultry, pasta, beans and toiletries, which were all provided by the Joshua’s Heart Foundation. Local community partners at Chen Senior Medical Center volunteered by packaging and delivering the items to North Miami families.
“I am truly thankful and appreciative of the Joshua’s Heart Foundation for their heartfelt donations and the volunteers from Chen Senior Medical Center for bringing much needed supplies to our North Miami families in need,” said Estimé-Irvin.
“Our Foundation is proud to collaborate with North Miami Councilwoman Estimé-Irvin, and Chen Senior Medical Center to ensure the most vulnerable members of the community who are unable to participate in a drive-thru food distribution do not go hungry during these challenging times,” said Tobi Ash, Director of Joshua’s Heart Foundation.
“At Chen Senior Medical we are committed to keeping seniors healthy, happy and at home. We understand these are challenging times and that’s why we’ve partnered with the city of North Miami to help serve our community by delivering food to their homes. This is social impacting while social distancing,” said Kimberly Gomez, Cultural and Community Specialist at Chen Senior Medical Center.
